Where’s your latest trip? Have you gone spending your money on material things or spent it on local expensive restaurants and resorts? Well, if you tell me your last trip was in the supermarket picking up basic needs for yourself and had been doing that repetitively for a couple of months now, you should take a break. You have earned your income through hard work. Why can’t it be possible to save a couple of months for a trip to another country?

If you have plans to have a get-away with friends or families, I suggest you visit the Philippines. It doesn’t come easy saving on a budget for an international flight especially when you come from Europe, America, or other Western countries but risking your budget for an adventurous tour not to mention a one in a lifetime experience is worth everything.

Here is a list that might be helpful in your itinerary in the Philippines.

1. Boracay Island

The never ending Boracay Island located in Aklan. One of the most visited destinations in the Philippines. Probably when you ask someone who has gone to the Philippines they can’t forget to mention about Boracay Island. But what is really here that attracts a lot of tourists? Beautiful white sand beach and I mean BEAUTIFUL crystal waters and the view of the sky is really an astonishing gift of nature.

Simply walk barefooted in the sand during daylight and never miss out at any parties at night-time until dawn. You can also do scuba diving, wind surfing, golf and other activities set. One reminder, be friendly to the people there because you can really meet a lot especially during summer.

This tourist destination is located in Bohol in Region VII Central Visayas. Imagine green to dark brown hills scattered in a wide space of land. It is termed as Chocolate Hills because of its color and shaped like the drawings you had when you were a kid, those evenly perfect curved hills. There are estimated 1,300 hills scattered in an area of 50 square kilometers. Can you picture it out?

It really is amazing when you are at the top and you can see all of the hills formed and evenly distributed in one place. It is surrounded by grass so at the end of the dry season, it turns into chocolate brown. It is not man-made and you have to believe that it is true nature.

3. Underground River

Puerto Princesa, Foursquare.com

It is located in Palawan, Philippines. If you wish to come at this place, you have to book early since a lot of locals and foreigners come to this place. Sabang Beach is the entrance to the underground river and you are toured by groups in boats.

Life jackets and helmets are available and bring flash lights to see the inside of the cave and its formations clearly. The formation of the cave will awe you and the river inside. Just clear perfect water and amazing cave structures.

4. Hinatuan Enchanted River

This might be new to some but I added it because I feel that it is really great to add it to your itinerary. It is part of Mindanao in Surigao. This River flows into the Philippine Sea and Pacific Ocean. It has a dark and light blue clear water that makes you feel intimidated to swim right then and there. You can see the riverbed even at the deepest part of it. It remains a mystery since no one can tell where the water comes from. The top reason why tourists are curious to swim in this river because of its unexplainable depth no one can ever measure.

No one is allowed to swim later than 5:00 PM or even go nearer to this river at night. They say there are spirits who are protecting this river that is also the reason why it is called Enchanted.

5. Taal Volcano

Taal Volcano is surrounded by lake. Even of its size, it is still considered as one of the most active and dangerous volcanoes in the Philippines. This volcano erupted more than 30 times and recorded to have the most dangerous eruptions in the Philippines counting to how many deaths involved. But even from these circumstances, many tourists come and be mesmerized by the beauty of the volcano and its surrounding nature.

Conclusion

These are the tourists destinations in the Philippines. There are a lot and I mean a lot of sites and places that you can add but before adding it to your itinerary, make sure to have visited these 5 places that I shared with you. It’s all worth the effort and the painful trips you have to go through.
