Mountain and nature lovers, welcome to the third highest peak in the Philippines at 2,922 meters, Mt. Pulag. It is nestled in the middle of the mountainous area of Benguet, Ifugao and Nueva Vizcaya. Once you reach the top, a sea of clouds will applaud your trek. The natives of the tribes surrounding the mountain area call Mt. Pulag the Playground of the Gods.

To get to Mt. Pulag, you would have to go to Baguio and ride a jeep toward the base. Baguio is about a six hour drive from Manila. Five hours if you're in a hurry, seven if there's awful traffic, maybe even more.

Caramoan in Camarines Sur, has a lot of islands for you to visit. The Ataluyan island in Sagnay has been used as a set in a European movie. The Animasola island is not only known for its beach area, but also for the rock formations. Matukad Island has a lot of white puka shells and unique powdery pink sand. The island shores are lined with limestone cliffs. And this island has a lake at its center which is surrounded by a tropical forest. Another island, Sabitang-Laya is a triangle-shaped property surrounded by white seashore. This island is where the Philippines' version of Survivor was filmed.

Biri Island in northern Samar is a favorite destination during the summer, especially if you want to have a look at the Biri Island rock formation. So how does one get to have these picturesque rock formations? The big waves made by the San Bernardino Strait hitting against the eastern portion of the shore is the culprit for this natural wonder. The most visited rock formation on the island is called Magasang. There are five others aside from this, namely Magsapad, Makadlao, Puhunan, Bil-at, and Turo. To give you more reasons to visit, near Magasang is a natural saltwater pool called Bel-ot and has it's share of stardom in local movies in the country.

4. Travel back in time

Batanes is a greatly preserved town. From its iconic lighthouse to the Marlboro Hills down all the way to Sabang beach, this destination is a must visit. You can also visit cathedrals and burial caves, and the House of Dakay which is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Not known to many are the rock formations in Kapurpurawan which is located in Burgos, Ilocos Norte. The province of Ilocos Norte is nestled up in the northern part of the Philippines and is around more than 7 hours of driving from the capital city. This white rock is great for taking photos and for simply admiring the view. It's a geological wonder and something extraordinary. Really worth the trip up north.
