The Cube Pudong-Pudong International Airport
- Room Type : Superior Twin Room
- Stay Nights : 1 night
- Stay Num : 2 people
We chose to stay at "The Cube Pudong-Pudong International Airport," because it is near the airport and there is a shuttle bus, you can walk to the nearest station, and it is affordable. After spending 5 days in Shanghai, my friend got on a 9am flight, and I got on a 12 o'clock flight. Considering going to the airport two hours before, I had to check out early in the morning if I stayed at a hotel in the city, so I was looking for a hotel as close to the airport as possible. If you search in various ways, from this hotel can go on foot from Kawasha Station of subway line 2 and there is also an airport shuttle bus. And because the price was reasonable, I decided to stay at this hotel.
What is the appearance of the hotel? Check the entrance and reception
It is an uneven and interesting appearance. I could see from the highway and was very interested.
You can see the sign of the hotel.
Sign in front of the entrance
There is also a car park in front of the entrance.
The entrance's revolving door was beautifully decorated in the Christmas style at night.
I checked in lat at night so I could not tell so much, but the hotel did not seem that big.
The front desk was responded easily and quickly. I was telling the reservation of the shuttle bus by phone the day before, but it was not reserved. I was relieved as I was able to make a reservation on the spot.

What is a Superior Twin Room?
Guest room entrance door
I stayed in room 607.
There was a bathroom on the right side and a closet on the left side.
Evacuation route map
It was a room of solid colors that seemed to have been popular in the old times. Dark indirect lighting on mahogany furniture. Some deteriorations were seen, but I felt no inconvenience. The room was big. As it was less than 8000 yen per night by this contents, we stayed for a short time, but were satisfied.
I have never felt that my bed was uncomfortable.
There was a TV opposite the bed.
Desk and chair
There is also an outlet on the side of the desk.
There is also a sofa and a table by the window.
There was a large window from the foot to the ceiling.
As it is in the suburbs of Shanghai with no high-risen buildings, it was a low floor with only the 6 floors, but the view from the window was good. It faces the south side and bright sunshine shined through in in morning. If PM2.5 is awful time, you may not see this view at all, but it is warm winter and the time to use coal has been delayed this year, and the air is relatively clean, so it came at a good time.
The bathtub and shower room were separate in and I thought that was good.
I was able to see the bathroom from the room.
There was a shower in the bath, so you can wash your body there. When privacy is required, you can close the screen. To put it in a nutshell, the distance between the bathtub and the shower room is pretty far apart, and it can not be covered by the bath mat, when you move around you might make the floor wet.
There were two types of showers, a fixed rain shower and a movable hand shower, and they were usable without any particular problems.
Shampoo, conditioner and body soap were prepared in the shower room.
There was also an arm mirror next to the sink
Amenity and water bottles were prepared on the sink.
The amenities included a minimum of essential ingredients such as body cream, toothbrush, comb, shower cap, cotton, cotton swab, shaver, slippers and soap. The head of the toothbrush were bigger than the ones that I am used to. There was a sufficient amount of toothpaste that could be used for about a week.
There was also a hair dryer.
There was also a scale under the sink.
Closet and safe
There was a closet on the left side of the room. In the closet there were gowns, iron and ironing board, slippers and a safety deposit box. Also, I did not use it, but it was nice that a paper bag was placed.
Iron and ironing board
A gas mask for fire was also in the closet.
The safety box was a common type where you set a PIN number.
Inside the safety box
Mini bar cafe
There was also a cafe corner next to the closet.
There were glasses, cups, bottle openers, instant coffee, tea bags, sugar and more.
Snack bar, ramen and drinks were put with charge in the old-fashioned counter bar. I thought that it is unusual because there are not many hotels that add unnecessary things in the room. There was also an electric kettle and an ice bucket.
A refrigerator was also installed.
Beer and drinks such as carbonic acid were prepared in the refrigerator. In China, there are many drinks free hotels in the refrigerator recently, but in that case a note is placed. This time, I think that the drinks in the refrigerator were charged.
Restaurant in the hotel
There was a restaurant called "POYA" on the first floor. There was no door and it gave an open feeling.
The inside of "POYA"
There was also "Starbucks coffee" on the first floor.
There was also a pub on the first floor.
There was "Q Lounge" in the lobby. Because there was a mark of illy, it may be possible to drink illy's coffee. There was also a Chinese restaurant on the second floor.
Facilities in the hotel
There was a gym on the 4th floor.
There was also a sauna.
The third floor seems to have rooms equipped with facilities that can be used for meetings and events.
Environment around the hotel
As it is hotel near the airport of Shanghai suburbs, there is nothing in particular around the hotel. There was a shopping center next door. A short walk from a subway station is a high point. I think it is not a hotel that feels like being able to relax for many nights because it is a transit-like hotel that you stay when moving around different places. There seems to be a shuttle bus to Shanghai Disney, but I think it’s a waste of distance because the departure time is too late in the morning.
Streets around the hotel
Staff & customer base
The check-in on the day may be late, so I made a reservation for the shuttle bus the next morning on the phone, but when I heard from the front desk, it was not reserved. After all it was good because I could make a reservation at the time of check-in, but I was dissatisfied that I could not cooperate well. Japanese was not understood at all, and it was correspondence in English. I felt like I was used to Japanese people. Even if it asked in Chinese, it returned in English. The staff in charge of the luggage understood it if I asked in Chinese.
The customer base seems to be a large number of businessmen and transit customers. I did not see many families. There were a lot of Westerners on the shuttle bus, so I think they were sightseeing. In any case, I think that most people are using it as a lay-over before or after moving.
Because there is a shopping center including McDonald’s next to the hotel, I had no trouble finding a place to eat. It is also a short walk to the nearest subway station. You can take the subway or the hotel shuttle bus to the airport. I think that it is a hotel in a very convenient location for early morning departures and late check-ins. I think the security of the surrounding area is not bad, but if you go a little ways it may be more dangerous because you would be around residential areas. This time, I could not go to the shopping center next door, but the purpose was to go to the airport easily, so having a shuttle bus for free was a big advantage. In addition, my friend went to the airport by shuttle bus at 6:30 in the early morning in Shanghai for the first time. There was a bus of about 11 passengers in front of the entrance and I could ride it without any problems. There is no problem if you make a reservation at the front desk and be in front of the entrance 5 minutes before the departure time. I was not particularly asked for the name. I think I arrived at the airport in about 15 minutes.
McDonald's and shopping center next to the hotel
If you leave early the next morning, you can stay at the airport hotel in the airport, but the price is not so cheap, and the rooms are not large (it should be possible to open two suitcases), so we are looking for a well-balanced hotel. The The most important factor is that the airport shuttle bus is free. This was really useful. My friend took the shuttle bus from 6:30am and returned. I also took a bus from 9:30 and returned. Because I was staying in rooms with only showers for most of the trip, it was nice to be able to take a bath. There are many hotels with only a shallow bathtub, but the bathtub at this hotel was deep and easy to fill up water. As subway line 2 Sensa Station is close, and we arrive by subway immediately. It was also nice that the location conditions were good. I think it was a good hotel over all.
