W Bangkok Hotel
- Room Type : Wonderful room
- Stay Nights : 1 night
- Stay Num : 1 person
I chose "W Bangkok Hotel" because it is connected to Sathorn Square where the business appointment I have. And heard from my friend that the design of this hotel is interesting and like center of nightlife. On the other hand, I thought there should be quiet because the area is in the business district. My friend recommended me to stay once, that's why I decided to try.
Let's check the exterior of the hotel, entrance and reception
There was a large W logo highlighted on the hotel building.
The staff standing in front of the entrance. As I walked toward to the hotel, he took my luggage and leads me to the inside.
"W" welcomes you at the entrance!
The lobby design is innovative that it doesn't look like a hotel.
The staff at the front desk works with smile. Welcome tea was served from another staff during checking in, it is delightful such a service.
There is a bar next to the front desk.
You can order drimks at the bar.

Entering the room, bathroom is on the right. It has only a big curtain as partition instead of door.
Washbasin is at the center of bathroom area. A polished glass wall is between the bathroom and the bedroom.
The interior of the guest room is fashionable with a modern and glittery design. All light and air conditioner are controlled on tablet. This is like W Hotel style which I have never seen.
There was a desk and a chair at the window.
Bed mattress was comfortable for me.
TV is opposite the bed.
There was a table set between the bed and the TV. The sofa is quite nice for relaxing.
The room has a big window but no balcony. I wish I felt Bangkok's wind at the balcony.
You will see from the window a lot of building around the hotel. The city lights in the surrounding were beautiful at night. Since Bangkok has developed rapidly in recent years, I am looking forward to see this view in the next ten years. I would feel growth of Thailand.
Bathroom was separate as shower room, bathtub and toilet. What is common to all W Hotel groups, you need to pay attention when staying in multiple guests. Because there is no door in the bathroom and it is divided by only a large curtain.
The water pressure of the shower was good and hot water temperature as well . You can also enjoy rain shower.
The bathtub is big enough to stretch my legs. The towels are so fluffy and long enough to wrap whole body.
There was a scale also under the sink.
Amenities are Bliss shampoo, rinse, body soap, toothbrush, shower cap and razor. Shampoo and body soap with scent of lemon and sage were good quality as bring back for next travel.
It is helpful that they have toothbrush. I was worried that some hotel doesn't have it.
Hair dryer is in the closet.
Closet and Safety Box
The closet is in the room, opposite the bathroom.
In the closet, there are a bathrobe, ironing set, slippers, hairdryer, hanger, safety box and storage. It seems that cleaning was very carefully done.
The safety box was stored in a drawer. I thought that it is good not to be seen from the room in terms of security and design.
Safety box inside
Mini bar / cafe
Some liqueur such as whiskey and vodka, oleos, potato chips, snacks, coffee and tea are placed at mini bar. That arranging was also fashionable and strategic. We did not purchase because it is expensive, but it is still great to be part of the interior of the room. Four bottle of water were complimentary.
There are some glasses.
The refrigerator is filled with some drinks.
Restaurant in hotel, shop
We went "the kitchen table" which was breakfast venue.
Breakfast is buffet style.
Bread, Chinese, Italian, egg corner, salad and fruit were variety.
Especially I loved it! You can choose a noodle yourself. The soup is gentle flavor and absorbed into the noodle.
You can add some ingredients by yourself.
There is a restaurant with the exterior of the historic building "House on Sathorn". You can enjoy special dinner and drinks at night and afternoon tea during the day time. It seems too luxurious to enjoy dinner for us. There were only one shop in front of the elevator hall at the first floor. Souvenirs such as Muay Thai pants and gloves and polo shirts with W logo were on sale.
Facilities in the hotel
The design of the pool was also very fashionable. The bronze walls and a bronze statues of the cat are lined up. Some pool bed are on the poolside and I saw a few people enjoyed sunbathing. At the entrance there is a bar counter so that you can order drinks and meals. It seems that you can enjoy it all day from the morning. I have heard W's swimming pool has sound speaker inside the pool so that the guest enjoy the music even they are diving into the water. The point reminds us of the W hotel's unique design.
I used gym facilities during my stay. Basic items such as dumbbells and running machines were equipped. Water and towels are available complimentary.
They have event facilities that can be used as business meetings room.
Hotel surroundings environment
Since the hotel is located in an office town, it was far from noisy area. Access to Chung Nonsi BTS Station is about 3 minutes walk. To Siam area which is crowded and bustled is only 3 stops away by BTS.
The business building called Sathorn square is just next door where lots of business people gathered. It was convenient that Seven Eleven is at the first floor of the building.
Staff & Customers
I thought that each staff was very polite and well educated. Even while checking in, another staff brought welcome drink to me, helped to carry my baggage. They always keep smiling, it makes me so pleasant to stay here. I think that politeness of customer service is top level in Bangkok. As I saw lots of Japanese guest, it seems to have some staff who can speak Japanese. Staff ‘s English did not have strong accent in Thailand and it was easy to catch.
The guest are multi international. I saw mainly Chinese and Indian guests. Many families and also businessmen were there, they are kinds of stylish people in 20's to the mid thirties.
It takes about 45 minutes by train from Suvarnabhumi airport. You need to take airport rail link to Phayathai station and transfer to BTS to Chong Nong Si station via Silom. You will reach the hotel with 5 minutes walking from the station. I recommend to take public transport even transit is troublesome, because Bangkok traffic is heavily congested and arriving time cannot be estimated.
It is very convenient for me to have a meeting at Sathorn Square which is next to the hotel. There is a Seven Eleven nearby, so I could buy small things easily. There is no big shopping mall around there, but Siam area is reachable in 3 stops away by BTS.
It was nice to stay at this hotel. I felt that I came to another world when entering the hotel. Especially the lights were dark at night and it looked like clubs or bars. The room interior is modern and stylish. The most signature of W hotel style is control tablet which all room lighting and air conditioner can be adjusted.
I stayed at various hotels in Bangkok, I think that the hospitality, cleanliness and interior of W hotel are very top level. It makes all staff looking cool, and I felt their hospitality with welcome drink at check in counter. It was a very good experience for me.
